The teaching and research interests of the Finance and Accounting Area spans a broad range of issuessuch as, corporate disclosure, management control, corporate finance, corporate governance, asset pricing, market microstructure, management of financial institutions, risk management, financial regulation and empirical methods in finance. The faculty members are vigorously engaged in both academic and applied research. The Area faculty members serve on several government committees and corporate boards.

As the primary emphasis of the programme is to prepare students to engage in high quality research, candidates must possess a strong aptitude for abstract thinking and quantitative analysis. Requirements for admission to FPM in Finance and Accounting are mentioned in the Admission Requirements section.
